'Next To You' is an imagined public space, a constructed view of the activity on a single city bench. I took hundreds of images from the same vantage point. These images form a kind of linear community in a continuous space, creating unforeseen connections and an intimacy among strangers. Ultimately I hope to examine the patterns by which people use public space to both congregate and insulate.  And how, either way, multiple narratives emerge.
